The baller's brain (and his pinky)

This is cool.  The study starts by comparing the ability to predict whether a basketball shot will be successful based on video clips.  Players, avid fans and people ignorant of the game where shown clips of people shooting a basketball.  The faster the clip was shown, the larger the disparity between the players ability to predict and the novices.  Thats all well and good and expected.

What was cool was that when the professionals knew the ball would miss, they would have reflexive movement in their pinky of their shooting hand…the same finger that is often at fault when missing a shot.
